Many things are attributed to attunements in modern times, but how are they viewed from a traditional Japanese perspective? It appears that many contemporary notions relating to what attunements actually do, do not correspond to the Japanese way.
Attunements are one of the five main elements of the system of Reiki. Basically, it is a ritual performed by a teacher with a student with the purpose of energetically supporting the student’s progress.

Basically these symbols allows the brain to rewire itself so it can function in accord with the shapes viewed so you can function more holistically about the cosmos, your self and ALL that Is.
However you may decide to view up to 3 times a day, no more than 15 minutes so that you can give the brain the ability to assimilate. This fits the best absorption rate and alteration of circuitry. If you do more, you could lose the effects.

The traditional Japanese system of Reiki uses several symbols and mantras in its teachings and ongoing practices. These symbols and mantras are tools that help you deepen your understanding of and directly experience your true nature.
However, some of these symbols are not actually symbols. They are kanji, a Japanese system for writing words and ideas. Since these kanji are frequently displayed in Japanese temples, on Japanese statues, and in Japanese martial art schools, they are not exclusive
